Thanksgiving:
This year it was a little different than most years. For the first time ever both of my parents were called in to work (life of being a police officer). The both had to go on duty at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. They called me and my step brother to come home to spend the night before, so we could have thanksgiving dinner at 11 a.m. Like a good daughter, after work, went home, picked up Bam, packed and headed to the parents. Was there by 7 p.m. My step brother on the other hand came rolling in at 4 a.m. drunk. Needless to say the parents were not too pleased about that. Thanksgiving morning we get up, haul ass to get the rest of the food cooked and head to my step grandparents. I don’t think we even got there until after noon. So we scarfed down our food. Not even time to get leftovers together (I went home empty handed). We said our good byes, and went our separate day.
After I got home I kind of felt bad because that was not a normal thanksgiving at all. I started thinking about it and text my mom about putting up the huge 12 foot Christmas tree that is family tradition. She said they were going to do it Saturday. So Saturday morning I got up drove back to my parent and we put up the huge tree. They left for some fancy party and I went home.
Christmas:
Honestly Christmas was great. Spent the night at my parents on Christmas Eve, got up opened presents, went to their famous neighbor’s house for a big neighborhood breakfast, had dinner with the family and went home.
New Year’s Eve:
I went to a house party at a friend’s back in my home town. I pretty much knew everybody there but some of them not that well. You know met in passing. Well this one chick got all fucked up and started freaking out (it was well before midnight). Like to the point she was rocking back and forth in the floor saying, “it’s all just a mind game”. Come on honey, if you can’t drink with the adults then don’t. Then she got sick and pretty much ruined half of the party goers good time. Me on the other hand, well I had just been gifted a unicorn toboggan and was running around with it on acting like the awesome unicorn I am offering people champagne out of the bottle I was carrying around. I don’t know about anybody else but I had a good time lol. Turns out chick had the stomach flu and was not drunk. Just freaked out over nothing.
So that was my end of the year holiday stories. Nothing special, just a little different than normal. I hope you made great memories that will stay with you forever. It makes me sad that people don’t value family and traditions like they used too. All holidays are completely commercialized now that it takes the fun out of everything. Money hungry bastards. Anyway, that’s that.
